    This Cottage by the Bay is our home away from home! Rick always makes sure everything is ready for our arrival: sparkling clean house, music playing upon arrival, sunflowers and wine to start things off just right and a shed with everything you need for your stay, including four new beach cruisers! This is our third time staying here and the new kitchen with white cabinets, farm house sink, tiled backsplash, all new appliances and awesome lighting has made this home even more perfect! When I rent a home, I really do love to cook and I had a blast in this kitchen! We worked up an awesome appetite riding on the new bikes: to town, to the farm stand and to the beach! It’s so great to be able to walk to town for dinner and walk to the beach for the sunset. It’s the best location and the neighborhood is friendly and quiet! I truly feel so at home here!

    Rick was friendly from my first email with him. From that point on, he was very easy to book with and was very knowledgeable about Southold and the wine country. After booking and up to our arrival, he was very accessible. The home is very cute with comfortable beds and living spaces and a great outdoor space to enjoy with friends over barbecue. Southold, and the North Fork area was very sweet, friendly, and surprised us with great wine and beautiful environment. I would recommend anyone interested in a nice girls weekend, family stay, or just a great place to relax, to stay with Rick and visit Southold! Can’t wait for our next trip.

    My family had such a lovely week at this special home. The garden is perfect for kids to play in and adults to barbecue. Every day we had lovely meals on the deck after spending the morning at the nearby beach or exploring the area. The house is close to lots of wine farms, apple farms and shelter island. The house itself has all the amenities you could wish for! I hope we can visit again soon!!

    This is beautifully decorated home, a perfect vacation spot for us coming from the city. My husband and I have rented in Westhampton before, and we wanted to try “wine country.” This house was perfect for us. We love walking, and we could walk to the beach and the town from here. My dad, a senior citizen, stayed with us and also loved it, and we had some other family members over for a barbecue. My nephew and niece (2 years old and 9 months old) loved the swings in the backyard, and we loved drinking wine on the beautiful porch. The nice owners (a father and son) were straightforward to deal with and returned our security deposit promptly.

    What an amazing time again! Stayed same weekend last year for a quick getaway with my friends. House is adorable, cozy decor, love the outdoor shower and charming screened in porch. Quick walk to a great little beach and close to many vineyards. Will definitely be back for a 3rd year in 2015

    This really was a “home away from home….”, because it felt so comfortable and relaxing. The house was very clean and nicely decorated with all the amenities you may want (air conditioners/ceiling fans, washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, WiFi, and even a swings from the backyard tree). I have three small kids and it was a very child friendly house. We absolutely LOVED the screened in porch and my girls begged to go to the backyard swings every morning. The open floor plan made the house feel very spacious. The house is situated on a very nice tree-lined block. Southold is a charming town for excursions along the North Fork. Among my rentals, this house is among the BEST.

    I rented this house for me and 3 friends for my birthday weekend as a quick escape from the regular life us moms lead. I couldn’t have picked a better house! Beautifully decorated with that beachy cottage feel and super clean. Walking distance to a small beach and close to everything else, vineyards, restaurants, etc. We spent most of our stay sitting in the screened in back room on the couches drinking wine and eating cheese. By Sunday morning we all felt relaxed and refreshed and did not want to leave, but we headed back to our busy lives as car pooling moms but vowed to make this a tradition. Needless to say we will be renting this house again and again, thanks to Rick for his hospitality.

    We (4 adults, 2 toddlers) had an absolutely fantastic time. The house is lovely and everyone felt so comfortable there (the swings in the yard were a real bonus). And what a great spot with the beach at one end of the street and all of the amenities at the other. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

    My husband and I just concluded a month long getaway at this warm and inviting cottage. We couldnt have asked for a better vacation except maybe to have had even more time there. The home is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing near beachfront stay. We visited more than a few of the local vineyards and farmstands, and although we did dine out more often than cook, home cooking and grilling is really encouraged by all the wonderful fresh foods available during the season. Dont miss out on the lavender farm for a unique lavender picking experience. Beaches? there were so many to choose from. Our own local beach was steps away, but make sure to visit Kennys beach and South Harbor, which is a larger sandier beach, our favorite and our grandchildrens favorite remains to be Goldsmiths beach. There you can ride the incoming tide and outgoing tide in tubes and the kids were able to catch and release multitudes of baby hermit crabs as well as other sea life, they had a ball. Its just a short ride down hwy. 48 just past Catapano farm, another must stop!!!. The goat cheese is spectacular and kids love playing with the adorable farm animals. The local restaurants kept our tastebud’s satified, we visited Touch of Venice, Port of Egypts “Allure” as well as Peppys and Claudiios in Greenport. If you like breakfast out, dont miss Bonnie Jeans or try the “Cutchogue Diner” a historic and nostalgic dining experience. We brought our own bicycles out to view the local scenery up close. The Horton Lighthouse at sunset is a sight you wont forget!. I highly recommend a visit to the North Fork of L.I. and this cottage for a memorable vacation that is sure to please. The hosts are as warm and friendly as the cottage itself and were extremely helpful in making this a vacaton my family will cherish forever!
    Perfect Getaway!
    Two girlfriends and I rented this cottage for a long weekend to celebrate our birthdays. It is exactly as pictured and even better in person, spotless and up to date. There are three
    lovely bedrooms, each with a queen bed, which suited our needs perfectly. Even though we ate most of our meals out, the kitchen has everything you need and the dining room is spacious with a large table that seats eight or more easily. The living room is also a good size, cozy and decorated very nicely with comfy furniture for lounging. There is a large screen porch which was wonderful for having breakfast, drinks or just relaxing. The owner has decorated and furnished this home very tastefully. Speaking of the owner, he was very accommodating and easy to work with. The house is in a great neighborhood with a beautiful beach within walking distance. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this wonderful cottage again.

    Myself and 5 friends stayed at this house at the end of September for a weekend getaway/to visit the nearby vineyards. The house was perfect for 3 couples and was exactly as depicted on the listing. It was absolutely pristine and was in a great location – right by the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and a short drive from the vineyards. The renter was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the whole process, which was especially helpful because none of us were familiar with the area. The enclosed porch is amazing, and is where we spent most of our time hanging out. Would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in the area, and I’m sure we will be back soon enough!
